Desert Deals ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user of the Desert Deals iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

a) Product Data You Provide

When you add a product to track, the App stores the Amazon product URL, product title, price, currency, product image URL, and your chosen target price. This data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

b) Analytics Data

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics, including app lifecycle events (e.g., app opened, app backgrounded). This helps us understand how the App is used and improve the experience. Analytics data does not include personally identifiable information such as your name or email address.

c) Subscription Data

Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information.
• We do not require you to create an account.
• We do not access your location, contacts, photos, or other sensitive device data.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Price tracking: Product URLs are fetched periodically to check current prices and notify you of price drops.
• Notifications: If you grant permission, local notifications are sent when a product's price drops to or below your target price. Notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device.
• Analytics: Anonymous usage data is used solely to improve app quality and performance.

4. Data Storage & Security

All product data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate a backend server that stores your tracked products. Analytics events are transmitted securely (HTTPS) to our PostHog instance.

5. Third-Party Services

6. Data Retention

Product data remains on your device until you delete it from the App or uninstall the App. Analytics data is retained in accordance with PostHog's data retention policies.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your Rights

Since your product data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete individual products or remove all data by uninstalling the App.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
